Automated Court Event System (ACES) City and County of San Francisco Screen Sample The Automated Court Event System (ACES) is a case management system for Superior and Municipal Court clerks and staff. ACES tracks all criminal case-related data including all charge information. Court calendar events can be scheduled and attorneys assigned. All pertinent forms can be printed. A judge's comments can be entered "live" (in court) or off calendar for any court event (i.e., arraignment, sentencing, trial, hearing.) ACES automatically "translates" court comments into the full text required for forms. The forms (i.e., minutes, commitments, bench warrants, probation documents, abstracts) are generated dynamically. In San Francisco, ACES eliminated a three month lag in forms production caused by redundant data entry. They also now use ACES to upload and download pertinent data to and from other departments' databases. ACES has helped them to stay within budget even with an increased caseload. ACES is a client/server application written with PowerBuilder and uses Oracle for its database but can be customized for most SQL-based database environments.
